- (1) Dedication Day Operating Expenses
- The Hall of Honor Student Committee is a club at Austin High. Our club is not part of the Austin High operating budget and we rely solely on fundraising and donations to put on Dedication Day. We have costs associated with printing programs, mailing invitations, equipment used for the Grand Assembly, plaques and medals for honorees, reception for honorees, and substitutes for our two teacher advisors on Dedication Day.
- (2) Relocation of Hall of Honor into the Main Building
- Our Hall of Honor is currently located in the Performing Arts Center, tucked in a hallway where few students are able to view it. We are working to raise money to move the Hall of Honor into the main building. Our goal is for all students, staff, and visitors to view Austin High’s rich history and be inspired by our distinguished alumni, faculty, and veterans. Please consider donating to this worthy cause or hosting an event with your business that would benefit Austin High’s Hall of Honor.
- (3) Scholarships
- Through an application and interview process, members of the Senior Class are selected for induction into the Maroon Society. In 2002, Maroon Society recipients began to receive scholarship money from the Hall of Honor Endowment Fund to assist with college expenses.
- (4) Awards and Elections
- The Student Steering Committee of the Hall of Honor “builds” the files of nominees for the Hall of Honor. We would appreciate contributions from former students and/or retired faculty. Consider that favorite teacher from your years at school or a classmate who has gone on to do great things... tell us about them! (see more here)
